TOKYO ̶ May 30, 2017 ̶ Seven Dreamers (official name: seven dreamers laboratories inc.; head office: Minato-ku, Tokyo; President & CEO: Shin Sakane), a group of technologists dedicated to creating totally novel, world-first products, today held Laundroid World 2017, a media event concerning Laundroid, the world's first*1 fully automatic laundry folding robot. At the event, Seven Dreamers announced the launch of its collaboration with AirCloset, Inc. (head office: Minato-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Satoshi Amanuma), a monthly subscription-based apparel rental service provider, and Cerevo Inc. (head office: Bunkyo-ku, Tokyo;CEO: Takuma Iwasa).

Laundroid is a fully automatic laundry folding robot for home use that Seven Dreamers has been developing since 2005. Created by combining three technologies—image analysis, artificial intelligence, and robotics, Laundroid is a novel household appliance that constantly evolves. The dedicated app*2 for operating Laundroid enables visualization on its interface of the frequency with which previously registered items of clothing are worn. By remembering and organizing clothing that has been worn, Laundroid can serve as an online closet. Seven Dreamers is planning to offer a “clothing concierge” service that will help users enjoy fashion by providing opportunities for them to wear an almost limitless range of new clothing. Collaborating with AirCloset is an example of the concept of “clothing concierge”.

Seven Dreamers also announced a collaboration with Cerevo, an IoT consumer electronics pioneer offering products both in Japan and overseas. Under this collaboration, Seven Dreamers will integrate Laundroid with Cerevo’s Lumigent, a robotic desk lamp with voice recognition and transformation functions which recently has been announced to utilize Alexa ( Lumigent lights up automatically when spoken to. The integration will enable Lumigent to command the basic Laundroid operations. By connecting with various IoT devices in the home, Laundroid will facilitate the establishment of a new relationship between people and robots.

With Laundroid, Seven Dreamers will offer world-first technology and services that will change conceptions of home appliances and robots.
